My 6 weeks holiday was done and dusted and now it's time to go full speed with my travel business. While I was away I had to check emails and clients' flight to make sure everything is all good.
One of my group booking of 5 people had a flight time change which they are meant to fly from Copenhagen - London - Tokyo - Sydney. With the time changed they had 120 minutes in between flight in London and the minimum connecting time is 130 minutes.
I called the airline to see if 120 minutes is sufficient enough and the staff said it should be okay but when I asked him if the clients' flight is delayed from Copenhagen, would they be rescheduled on to the next flight or not, he wasn't sure and told me to email agency support. Heathrow airport is currently manic so I was pretty sure my 5 clients will miss their connecting flight.
Whenever I contact the airlines for alterative for my clients I will always find the solution first then email to ask the airlines whether these options are doable or not. As long as they said yes and give me the waiver code then I can reissue the tickets for free.
The options were to fly via Paris with 2 hours transit or via London with 2.45 hours. Once these options were confirmed I then let the clients know and recommended them to go via London with more transit time to be safer. My job is to think for my clients, offer them the best solution so it's hassle free for them.
I spent around 2 hours with the airline and another 3 hours emailing back and forth to get the waiver.
Did my clients have to pay any change fee or waste their time over the phone with the airlines? NO 🙅♂️

If there are more flight schedule, again, they won't have to pay anything nor call the airline cus they got me working hard for them 💪
Now imagined if they booked online and didn't find out about the schedule changed and missed their flight back to Australia? Or having to call the airlines and spend hours on the phone to find a solution while they are on their trip or even at the airport trying to sort this out.
